The Anything = Everything Rule: Sabotage or Success?

You may have heard this truth before.  If not, get ready for a revelation:  “The way you do anything is the way you do everything.”

I first heard it a few years ago from one of my mentors, Jim Rohn.  And I admit it.  Initially I completely rejected the idea.  In fact, I passionately disagreed.  And then I realized that the insight of this wisdom cannot be ignored.

Think about it.  Whether the subject is health, finance or relationships (always the big three…), how you execute in one is how you execute in all.  Are you pro-active or re-active?  Are you indulgent or disciplined?  Are you generating success with every breath or sabotaging it with every thought?

When I began honestly looking at how I operated, it was clear to me that the places where I was struggling all shared a common theme.  They were all about daily discipline.  They were all about the slow win.  And I am nothing if not impatient.  I want results and I want them yesterday.  The problem is that to get them “yesterday” – I have to do what’s necessary today – over and over again until at some point on one of those “tomorrows” I will realize that yesterday I got results.

If we are not achieving results, we must be willing to be honest about why.  And adjust accordingly.  For adjust – read change.  For change – read grow.

If you, like me, struggle with the grind of daily discipline, then you are in the right place.  I am off on an incredible journey over the next 28 days participating in an Author’s Blog Challenge.  The operative word in this case is challenge.  A challenge a group of authors have each given ourselves.  To contribute our words everyday for 28 days.

And I’ll be learning as I go about how to make this blog a better place for you and for me.  A place of learning and a place of growth.  A place always dedicated to the art of possibility.

Join me.
