Sunday’s Song: Music for a Remembered Marine

My Dad was a Marine and served during the Korean War. Like many, the military was more than an opportunity for him to serve his country.  It gave him a new vision of the man he could and would become.  He never stopped developing and growing that vision into reality, even as he never stopped defending his values as his legacy.

My Dad loved music.  He particularly loved patriotic music.  For this Sunday’s Song offering, I have selected one of his favorites: The Battle Hymn of the Republic.  I can still see his smiling face whenever it is played.  So enjoy with me this performance from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir as we celebrate our heroes and our freedoms on this eve of the holiday that honors them.

Thanks, Dad.
