Sunday’s Song: Angels Among Us

This morning when I woke up here in southern Texas, there was rain.  Much needed here.  But in other places, flooding.  A good friend in California had to evacuate her home due to brush fires.  Others have been experiencing the devastation in Oklahoma from severe storms, hail, wind and tornados.  In all of these cases, people are appearing.  And they are acting and delivering rays of hope to those they help.

What is important to remember is that these people didn’t just wake up one morning and decide to be a hero.  Life happens and heroes appear.  No matter how small our act of kindness, caring and hope may seem to us, it could be a lifeline to the person receiving it.

We live our lives one day at a time, one moment at a time.  And heroes come along in the same time.

We are all blessed by the angels among us.  How incredible it is that we also have the opportunity to be part of that band of angels everyday with every smile, every touch, every word, every prayer.

As we pause on this Sunday to reflect, it’s a good thing to think about.  Gratitude for those that have been and are there for us in those moments of need and gratitude for the privilege of doing the same for them.

The examples used by Alabama in this video are real people living real lives.  Just like us. When we make a positive difference for someone else, we are living on the side of the angels.  I love that thought.
