Sunday’s Song: Shadows (Lindsey Stirling)

In last week’s Sunday’s Song post, I first introduced Lindsey Stirling, an extraordinary violinist recommended by my granddaughter.  This week, her video and performance of Shadows, an original song that combines movement and music as extreme artistry is being featured.

At times, Lindsey is leading.  At others, her shadow leads.  And then the magic happens at those times where they are integrated, but no longer shadow copies of each other.  It is a unique and wonderfully engaging work.  It brought to mind that our “shadow” could be thought of as a symbol of legacy.  Sometimes we are creating our own.  Sometimes we are following those we’ve inherited.  Always we should be integrating them with our own unique perspective.  An impression becomes expression within the dance.
