Sunday’s Song: Another “im”possible dream is done

Whenever I hear or read the word impossible, it disturbs me on a deep level.  Unless the context is telling a story of how the “im”possible became possible and is done.  Nothing is “im”possible. Not in my world.  Everything can be done in some form on some level.  There might be give and take and there is often sacrifice involved but we do have the power within us and around us to bring dreams and victories to life.

The Piano Guys never fail to inspire me.  But when I read their liner notes (yes I’m dating myself with that term…) on their work in China I was not just inspired.  I was very moved.  Their talent and creativity is astounding but what I really love about them is the fact that they take their music INTO the world.  Yes of course we can buy tickets and go see them in concert but they are not content with only that within their creativity well.  The places matter to them.  So do the people (and creatures!) in those places.  But they have explained all of this quite eloquently themselves for today’s Sunday’s Song – Kung Fu Piano: Cello Ascends.   The music and video will touch you in a deeper way if you take the time to learn why this place mattered to them.

Here is my favorite excerpt from their story: “It is difficult to detail each of the many miracles that were stitched together in time turning this dream into actuality. Master Oogway, himself, said, ‘A destiny is not realized until we let go of the illusion of control.’ To say we made this happen of our own accord would be to fall victim to this illusion. An invisible hand guided us, for which we are eternally grateful. This was a life-changing experience for us.”

It was certainly soul-touching for me.  (And if you’re really intrigued.. check out their video showing the piano being moved to The Great Wall of China.  Some things are just worth it.  No matter how difficult. )

To wrap – closing with their words:   “Since ThePianoGuys began, it has been our impossible dream to put a grand piano on the Great Wall. It is done.”

What feels like an “im”possible dream to you? Let’s get it done.
